Native Americans believe that the night air is filled with both good and bad dreams. According to Native American culture, a dream catcher hangs above your bed to catch dreams. Good dreams know how to beat them. Bad dreams don't know the way, but they do get trapped in the internet. After the bad dreams get tangled up, they disappear with the first light of a new day. Dream catchers are idealised to catch the damage in the room. The dream catcher is thus believed to be a talisman of protection.
