Benzoin is a balsamic resin obtained from the bark of several species of trees of the genus Styrax. Benzoin resin has a rich history of use in Russian churches and some Orthodox communities. Due to the longevity of its aroma, benzoin is nowadays very popular as an aromatic raw material. The Southeast Asian tree resin benzoin is now popular all over the world and known for its aromatic divinity.
